With the spread of the internet, ever higher resolution IP cameras and the arrival of artificial intelligence, anyone can now enjoy the benefits of video monitoring that we only saw in films 10–15 years ago. The essence of the solution is that the images of the camera system installed at the protected property can be displayed not only locally but also, over an internet connection, in the control centre. This can take the form of continuous observation of the camera images, or supervision of so-called alarm images.

Video monitoring is a highly effective security solution both on its own and as a defining component of hybrid monitoring, within the complex protection system of industrial sites and large, open properties.
